the challenge

Rocky Mountaineer isn't just a train ride—it's a five-star luxury experience featuring gourmet food, top-shelf wines, and world-class service through some of the most spectacular scenery in North America. But their digital marketing presence wasn't telling that story. They needed landing pages that could support key marketing campaigns driving traffic to new promotions, service levels, and group travel options—and those pages needed to feel as premium as the experience itself.

the approach

We immersed ourselves in understanding what makes Rocky Mountaineer special. The answer wasn't just beautiful trains or stunning routes—it was the feeling of being genuinely cared for by a friendly, knowledgeable staff while enjoying incredible food and wine. We developed a new conversational tone that better represented the warmth of the actual experience, moving away from typical travel marketing toward something more personal and inviting.

the solution

We delivered a series of fully responsive landing pages that put excellent service, gourmet food, and luxurious accommodations front and center. The designs represented a significant step forward for the Rocky Mountaineer brand—more refined, more luxurious, and more emotionally resonant. These weren't just landing pages; they were digital extensions of the Rocky Mountaineer experience.

We put the focus on excellent service, gourmet food, and luxurious accommodations. We developed a friendly new conversational tone that better represented the experience aboard a Rocky Mountaineer train.

the results

The new landing pages outperformed previous campaign pages across every metric. Email campaign click-through rates increased by 34%, and landing page conversion rates improved by 41%. The work was so well received that Make was subsequently tapped to produce the frontend design for Rocky Mountaineer's new Drupal-based website—a testament to the success of the initial engagement.

Digital Luxury, Delivered

Rocky Mountaineer sells an experience that's impossible to fully capture in pixels. So we didn't try to show everything—we focused on evoking the feeling of warmth, care, and indulgence that defines every journey aboard their trains.
